What “local SEO” means here
It means helping nearby customers find a real business when they search for a service and a place — “AC repair in Plano,” “emergency plumber near me.” Search engines look at whether your information is consistent, whether other pages agree with it, and whether your own site clearly describes the work and the area.
It does not mean stuffing a city name fifty times onto a page, buying links from sites you have never heard of, or paying for reviews.
Get the basics identical everywhere
Use the same business name, phone number and address (your NAP) on your website, your Google Business Profile and any directories you already appear in. If one listing uses a nickname, a mobile number and an old suite, search engines have to guess which version is true. Customers do too.
If you serve a region rather than a single shopfront, be honest about it. Name the cities you drive to. Do not publish a fake street address in a city you do not serve.
On your website
- Give every page a unique title and meta description that a person would click.
- Write service pages in ordinary language: what you do, where, and how to call.
- Show hours, service area and a way to contact you on mobile.
- Add structured data from details you have confirmed (for example LocalBusiness and Service), not from invented markup.
- Keep a sitemap and, when the site launches, Search Console in your own account.
MendRev Website Starter includes basic on-page SEO (titles, meta, schema, sitemap). Website Pro includes local SEO setup with per-page titles and LocalBusiness and Service schema. Details are on website pricing.
On Google Business Profile
Your profile is a listing you manage, not a website you own. Keep categories, hours, service area and photos accurate. Reply to reviews you receive. Do not buy reviews or copy someone else's. The longer guide is website vs Google Business Profile.
Reviews, citations and shortcuts
Real reviews from real customers help both people and search engines. Fake reviews put your account at risk and contradict how MendRev builds sites: we show reviews only from sources you own and approve, and we never write them for you.
Citations (your name and number on other sites) are useful when they are accurate. A long list of low-quality directories is not a strategy. Clean up the listings you already have before you open new ones.
What to do this week
- Write down the exact name, phone number and service area you want used everywhere.
- Open your Google Business Profile and fix hours, categories and photos.
- Check that your current site — or your new one — matches those facts.
- Read each service page out loud. If you would not say it to a customer, rewrite it.

Questions
Can anyone guarantee I will rank first?
No. MendRev does not guarantee rankings, traffic or leads, and you should be cautious of anyone who does.
Is a website enough without a Google Business Profile?
They do different jobs. The profile helps you appear on the map and in local results. The website is yours and can explain your services in more depth. Most businesses need both.
