Write down the job before you take quotes

A designer cannot quote fairly if the job is “I need a website.” Write down, in a short note: what you do, which cities you serve, whether you have a site today, how many pages you think you need, who will supply photos and words, and whether you also need hosting and monthly edits. The page list for a service-business site and the HVAC checklist can help you sketch that.

Questions worth asking every designer

  • How many pages are included, and what happens if I need another one later?
  • Who writes the copy? Will you invent reviews, awards or service areas?
  • Will the site be designed for a phone first? Can I see a live example?
  • Where do contact-form messages go, and who tests that form after launch?
  • Do you set unique titles, descriptions and structured data from my real details?
  • Who owns the domain, the content and the site files, and when?
  • What does hosting cost, and what do monthly edits include?
  • Do you guarantee rankings or a number of leads?

If the answer to the last question is yes, treat it as a warning. MendRev does not guarantee rankings, traffic or leads. We also will not invent testimonials or licences for your site.

Look at how they show their work

Ask whether a gallery is made of real client sites shown with permission, or of samples. MendRev's public demo gallery is fictional sample work, watermarked and labelled as such. That is an honest way to show a starting layout when live client sites are not being displayed. Be wary of a portfolio that uses other companies' brands without saying so, or that looks identical to a template store demo.

Price the scope, not the vibe

Read what a small-business website costs in 2026 before you compare numbers from the US and India. A clear package can beat a cheap hourly guess that later adds SEO, mobile fixes and hosting as extras.

MendRev's published packages, in USD, are Website Starter at $997 setup + $199/month (6-month minimum) or a launch one-time offer of $1,997 until 31 Dec 2026; Website Pro at $1,997 setup + $349/month or a launch one-time offer of $4,500 until 31 Dec 2026 (includes 30 days of post-launch support; after that, hosting and updates need Website Maintenance at $249/month); and Maintenance at $249/month. Extra work is $125/hour, quoted in writing. Full detail is on website pricing.

How MendRev works, so you can compare apples to apples

We start with a free concept preview built from public information and marked as a preview. You choose a plan, send a short content checklist (services, hours, area, licences, real reviews you own) and pay the setup. Starter goes live within 7 business days and Pro within 10, after that content and payment. You approve before launch. Monthly plans include hosting and edits. A launch one-time offer, available until 31 Dec 2026, includes 30 days of post-launch support; after that, hosting and updates need Website Maintenance at $249/month.

On monthly website plans you get the site files after 12 paid months, or earlier by paying the remaining months. Launch-offer one-time sites (available until 31 Dec 2026) are yours once paid and include 30 days of post-launch support; after that, hosting and updates need Website Maintenance at $249/month. You always own your domain, business name, logo, text, photos, reviews and customer data.

If that matches what you need, get a website demo or write to us. If you hire someone else, take the same questions and ask them to answer in writing.

Questions

Should I hire the cheapest quote?

Not by default. Hire the quote whose written scope, ownership terms and monthly care you understand. Cheap becomes expensive when pages, SEO, mobile work or hosting were never included.

Will MendRev invent reviews or awards to fill the site?

No. We only publish facts you own or that we can verify, on our site and on yours.
